Good morning to our friends and family of the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone!
We are happy to announce the approval of our new Pastor, Ochuba Okam Ochuba as of May 10, 2026! Our congregation overwhelmingly voted to approve him and his terms of call to our church. We had a wonderful after church social where our members were able to break bread together and spend time getting to know our new Pastor.
While he was already interviewed by our Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry, he had one more hurdle to cross. On May 11, the Huntingdon Presbytery called a special meeting to interview him for his new role with our church. They voted unanimously to accept him as our newest member to the Presbytery – Hallelujah!
With this last action, his work with us is now official. He will start with us full-time once his work permit and visa have been processed and approved. That could take as little as a few weeks to a month or more, but hopefully in June. In the meantime, we will continue to fill our pulpit with our usual pool of excellent Supply Pastors.
Tyrone, we are about to begin a new and important chapter in the history of our Church and community.
God has blessed us all!
